Taking a Peek at the Upcoming 2017 Chevy Bolt

The upcoming 2017 Chevy Bolt is set to officially debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January, but new spy shots are letting us take a look at it ahead of time.

If the Chevy Bolt resembles the Volt in name, so does it too in appearance. Styling elements borrow heavily from the Volt, and perhaps even from the i3, at least insofar as dimensions are concerned.

When it launches, the Bolt hatchback is expected to have a 200-mile electric range, though in sheer size it seems larger than a traditional hatchback. In other words, it’ll allow families who want to go green the opportunity to drive something even more efficient than the Volt without being cramped for room.

It will be built at the GM Orion Assembly facility in Michigan and arrive at DeLillo Chevrolet some time in 2017. Stay tuned to CES to know exactly what to expect!

Chevrolet Supports Wreaths Across America

Chevrolet has announced its support of Wreaths Across America, helping the organization place more than 70,000 wreaths at military cemeteries across the country.

Honoring as many of America’s military heroes as this requires a lot of wreaths and a lot of moving around, so Chevrolet dealers such as DeLillo Chevrolet and volunteers are donating more than 13,000 wreaths to the organization to help make it happen.

Chevrolet supports Wreaths Across America through wreath and vehicle donations.

The automaker is also providing several vehicles to Wreaths Across America, including decorated Suburbans and Silverados, that will lead their journey from its headquarters in Maine to the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.

“We think it is so important to teach our younger generation that our freedoms are not free, and that the stories of our fallen and departed heroes should not be lost through the years,” said Dan Adamcheck, Chevrolet regional sales and marketing manager. “Laying those wreaths and paying tribute is a small way to show how grateful we are.”

All-New 2016 Chevrolet Volt Donated to FIRST to support STEM Students

The all-new 2016 Chevrolet Volt

We all want the new 2016 Chevrolet Volt. It’s smarter, better looking, and more capable than any that have come before it—and those that have come before have been quite successful at DeLillo Chevrolet. But one of the first recipients of the new car is an unlikely one: FIRST, a K-12 robotics program that helps raise money for student robotics opportunities across the country, especially in communities underrepresented in STEM fields.

The all-new 2016 Chevrolet Volt was donated to FIRST to help raise some of those funds. “The Volt exemplifies technology, and behind the next-generation Chevrolet Volt is a diverse team of engineers who understand the power of science and math,” said Steve Majoros, Chevrolet Marketing Director. “FIRST brings science and math alive outside the classroom, just like we are bringing it alive on the road.”

The organization will auction the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Volt, with proceeds going to support its many STEM programs around the United States. This is just the latest of many collaborations between Chevrolet and FIRST—for instance, just last year, GM engineers worked with 866 FIRST teams representing 10,000 students.

Lucky Guy Gets the First All-New 2016 Chevrolet Camaro from Danica Patrick

all-new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro

If you’ve followed IndyCar at all in the last few years, you must have heard of Danica Patrick, who has been breaking all kinds of records related to female performances in motorsports. And if you’ve paid any attention to cars in general, you must also have heard of the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, which offers a previously unseen combination of performance, refinement, and technology.

Now both Danica Patrick and the Camaro have come together, but not in the way you might think. The first person to take delivery of the new car was Alican “Turk” Boyacioglu, who has been eagerly waiting for his 2016 Camaro SS for months. If his excitement wasn’t enough to begin with, it went over the top when he saw that none other than Patrick drove his car over and delivered the keys in person.

Unfortunately, we can’t promise that Patrick will be delivering your own 2016 Camaro should you purchase one from DeLillo Chevrolet, but we can guarantee that your experience at the wheel will be just as remarkable!

Are You Just Wasting Gas When Warming Up Your Car?

2016 Chevy Traverse

Warming up your Traverse or other vehicle may be a waste of time on trips longer than a few minutes.

It’s an age old question that many mechanics are unable to answer: should you warm up your car? Although people in colder climates have to worry about this issue more, people in places like California still have to consider the importance of warming up your car.

So does it matter? Well, the truth is that it does and it doesn’t. According to a recent article in the Washington Post, warming up your car was more important when most cars came with carburetors; however, most modern cars (built after 1990) have electronic fuel injection. With this innovative technical advancement, warming up your car might just be a waste of gas.

It is important if you have a carbureted car because it can increase efficiency by making the engine hotter; however, it’s not absolutely necessary. Nevertheless, there are some situations you should consider giving your car 30 seconds or so, like if you’re planning on driving for less than five minutes. If the engine doesn’t have enough time to get hot and evaporate water in the system, it can build up and cause serious problems.

In conclusion, only warm up your car if you’re not planning on driving very far. Otherwise, it may just be a waste of gas.

New 2016 Chevy Camaro Details Announced, Including Pricing

The current 2015 Chevy Camaro is one of the most popular vehicles on the market, so it’s no surprise that the arrival of the 2016 Camaro has been heavily anticipated. Thankfully, Chevrolet released some new 2016 Chevy Camaro details earlier this month.

The largest announcement has been the price of the 2016 Camaro – which will reportedly be $26,695, a reasonable but notable jump from the 2015 model’s price of $24,700.

With all the upgrades and new features the 2016 Camaro will have, this price increase seems more than fair. The new model will be more powerful and should boast better fuel efficiency than its predecessor and have all the latest tech features.

How to Keep Your Car Battery Working for Longer

Car batteries can be expensive, and replacing them isn’t a fun chore. Here are some simple tips and tricks to keep your car battery working for longer.

Perform regular battery maintenance. Once a month check the battery terminals for corrosion buildup. This buildup blocks the current from easily passing from the battery to the cables, and can become bad enough that the car doesn’t start at all. Use a screwdriver or pliers to clear away buildup, and wipe down dirt and debris found on the battery casing.

Car Battery

It’s important to perform regular maintenance on and take care of your car battery to keep it working for longer.

Avoid short trips in the winter. People who live in particularly harsh winter climates should be especially vigilant about driving their cars regularly, and not just for super-short drives. Instead of driving to the grocery store around the corner and home again, combine several errands into one trip as often as possible. Short trips don’t allow your car’s battery to fully recharge the energy it lost when you started the car.

Install an insulation blanket. This is something worth considering if you live in areas that see extreme heat or cold. An insulation blanket helps keep a car battery warm in the winter and cool in the summer, helping to extend its useable life.

SuperLift Your GMC Canyon or Chevy Colorado to New Heights

2015 Chevy Colorado

Wouldn’t this 2015 Chevy Colorado look nice if it were lifted?

The midsize Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon made a statement when they arrived in dealerships this year. Refined, capable, and modern, the pickups offered something others don’t – a small footprint and better fuel economy. Now, owners have a new option for lifting their 2015 Canyon or Colorado thanks to the experts at SuperLift.

SuperLift has released its new Level-It 2-Inch system, which will be available to lift the 2WD and 4WD 2015 Canyon and Colorado. According to GM Authority, the Level-It system uses laser-cut upper strut spacers and a lower pre-strut ring to increase the pickup’s stability and prevent a body roll. The kit is easy to install thanks to the fact that all necessary hardware is included, along with its 100 percent bolt-on procedure. Just be aware, you’ll need a coil spring compressor to properly install it.

The kit both makes the truck more stable, and gives it a more aggressive look and taller stance. If you decide to sell your truck, it’s easy to remove the kit.

Other kits are also available, so do your research to find the right fit for your needs. Here at DeLillo Chevrolet, we like the bold look of the lifted Colorado and Canyon. What other modifications have you made to your Colorado or Canyon? Tell us in the comments!
