2018 Chevrolet Equinox Reviews

2018 Chevrolet Equinox Reviews

Finding the right car for your lifestyle isn’t as easy as it may seem. Fortunately, the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox reviews offer insight as to just how value- and family-driven the latest model is.

Reviews

Cars.com experts cited the new styling and compact design that put the Chevrolet Equinox in closer competition with competitors like the Nissan Rogue. The new model rolls out on a new platform and weighs in at 400 lb. less than the previous model. Owners tend to agree, giving the Equinox a 4.9/5.0 rating.

Motor Trend noted that the Equinox shares its gasoline engines with the mid-size Chevrolet Malibu. The impressive line of engines offers drivers the choice between fuel economy, performance, and a balance of the two. A vast array of active safety features makes the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox better suited for families too.

Powertrains

One of the largest updates in the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox comes in the form of the available powertrains. The old four-cylinder and V6 engines are gone for good. Three new powertrains take their place for the model year.

All models come equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that offers up to an EPA-estimated 32 mpg on the highway.* Performance comes standard in the available 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, that engine produces 252 horsepower.

The most unique engine of the bunch is the available 1.6-liter Turbo-Diesel four-cylinder engine. Capable of earning up to an EPA-estimated 39 mpg* on the highway, the diesel engine takes efficiency to new heights.
